"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" - Matt 6:21

Heavenly treasures

Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven…”   - Matt 6:19,20 Amp.

His love for eternity?

Take action and share the gospel of Grace.

Obey Jesus' command and save someone from eternal separation from a loving God.

Jesus had given all believers the ministry of reconciliation. (2 Cor 5;19)

Some suggestions on how to give your testimony

There are three major areas of your testimony

  • My life before receiving Christ
  • My reborn/rebirth experience – the…where and how?
  • My life thereafter [how did this change my life – give practical examples

*Are there eyewitness accounts?

This could be a close friend, work colleagues or a wife/husband or family-members?

They are usually reliable witnesses in this regard.

Practical Guidelines

First pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. (James 1:5)
Before giving your testimony, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Remember your testimony is to bring praise and glory to the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.

Relate to the group
It is important to understand and be able to relate the target group. Seek sensitivity and guidance in the Holy Spirit.

Keep the following in mind -

  • Whether the group consists mostly of believers or non belivers.
  • The age and gender of the group.

Give examples of your own lifestyle before becoming reborn
[Keep this short!] Here it's important to note that there will always be someone who can identify with your previous type of lifestyle and, who desperately needs Jesus in his/her life!

Your pre-life testimony must be short, powerful and factual. (2/3min)
Keep to the truth and be factual– no lies. Avoid going into too much detail and therefore being "boring"

[This is about your Savior and what He did for you ~ and how you changed!]

Primary focus

After receiving Jesus as your saviour (5 minutes)

Give a brief explanation as how you received Jesus as Saviour.(John 3:3)

This should include details such as, what brought you to this decision (where and how did this happenen).

Share facts such as who the Holy Spirit anointed to lead you to Jesus.

You can also quote John 3:16

The effect after making Jesus Lord and King of your life (-7min)

How did the love of Father God change your life and your character?

Are there any eyewitness accounts of how you changed? [Read also Ese 36:26]

Share about Jesus' Character: What did you learn about Christ?

Share about His agape (sacrificial) Love, His grace, and forgiveness.

Be a testimony of The fruit of His presence in your life.

Read Galatians 5:22 and notice the changes in your life – and your PRIORITIES where you still need to change. [

Ps. this is a life-long growing process. (Phil 1:6)

Who is your new family in Christ? [1.5 min + end]
Who are your new friends? Where do you go to church, cell or small group?

  • Remind the audience (or individual) that Jesus' sacrificial death and agape love is available for everyone.
  • (Any person, ragardless of race, background or status can receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.)
  • There is ONE Savior for all mankind. (Act 4:12, 1 Tim 2:5)
